Demand for the practice's landscape and visual expertise on wind energy projects has remained strong in 2014, despite ongoing adjustments to feed in tariffs. An established profile of projects successfully completed in Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland reflects the experience and knowledge that the practice offers in applying current legislation and guidance. We continue to work effectively and successfully with planning authorities and statutory consultees across the UK on a variety of projects, ranging in scale from single turbines to Nationally Significant Infrastructure schemes. Services provided include LVIA, Residential Amenity Assessment, Ecology Assessment and Expert Witness.
The practice has assisted Bellway Homes with their 7.7 hectare redevelopment of the former ITV studios site at Culverhouse Cross, on the western gateway to Cardiff. The practice devised and implemented an extensive mitigation strategy for reptiles, to satisfy an outline planning condition, with an advanced capture and transfer operation over a three month period between August and October 2014, to successfully free up the site for development.
With enabling contracts completed, the main hospital campus construction has commenced on site. Soltys Brewster are continuing to support Todd Architects and Hall Black Douglas to deliver the new facility. The £105 million scheme includes focal landscape courtyards, roof gardens and high quality public realm, all within an extensively landscaped setting on the rural edge of Omagh.
