The Full Business Case for the new Adult Mental Health Unit, part of the Llandough campus, has now been approved by Welsh Government. The £89 million Unit progresses closer to construction and will provide a full suite of wards with access to secure therapeutic landscape gardens, with new adjacent hard and soft landscape public realm and concourse facilities, which serve the whole campus. The practice has provided landscape and ecology services throughout the life of the project.
Following strategic landscape design, landscape and ecology EIA and expert witness at planning inquiry earlier this year, the practice is pleased to announce that the Welsh Government has confirmed that they are 'minded to approve' the scheme, following resolution of outstanding Section 106 commitments. The 100 hectare scheme, with over 1200 homes, has been promoted over several decades as a major new community and now has the green light to proceed.
The practice continues to support the renewable energy industry, most recently with the successful submission of several new single turbine LVIAs in Mid Devon and Torridge District Councils. This further strengthens the practice's renewable energy portfolio of single and multiple wind, solar, hydro and tidal projects across the UK and Ireland.
