Soltys Brewster Consulting and Soltys Brewster Ecology would like to announce the retirement of Gary Soltys from both companies at the end of May 2018, after 18 years of service, as a founding director of both practices. Simon Brewster will continue with the role of Managing Director of Soltys Brewster Consulting with Dr Matthew Watts and Simon Brewster as joint Managing Directors of Soltys Brewster Ecology. It is an exciting time for the practice with both the Landscape and Ecology Teams currently welcoming new members of staff and we are very pleased to announce Zoe Lincoln’s promotion to Finance Director, underpinning the management structure.
We wish Gary all the best in the future as we look to the practices' continued diverse workload of projects in England, Wales and Ireland in the coming year.
Soltys Brewster is pleased to have supported Health Estates Northern Ireland and the Western Trust in the development of Omagh Hospital, which has recently secured RICS, RIBA, Civic Trust and RSUA awards in recognition of the quality and innovation of this Primary Care Complex. Working within the design team led by Todd Architects and Hall Black Douglas, the practice contributed to the landscape setting, external layout and design of the series of landscape gardens and courtyards, contributing to the life of the Hospital, with a supportive therapeutic landscape for all main spaces and users.
Our annual voluntary contribution to carbon offsetting has this year been dedicated to solar energy in India, generating sustainable power and employment opportunities in the region as well as demonstrating technology for climate action. As part of the practices Carbon Neutral status, for the past nine years Soltys Brewster has supported Verified Carbon Standards schemes, delivering project-based voluntary emission reductions.
