The past 15 years of Soltys Brewster have been dominated by the growth and advancement of our expertise and capabilities to support the needs of our clients ...with a minor blip of the worst global recession in generations! We have consolidated our growth through establishing Soltys Brewater Ecology in 2006, incorporation in 2007, achieved recongnition of our quality and environmental management through ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Carbon Zero Status In 2010. With increased economic growth anticipated, we look fonvard to building on the practice's established professional skills, stable management and solld financial foundation. Over the past 15 years I am proud have been involved in leading landmark projects such as the Circuit of Wales international motorsport destination, Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon, Heritage Park Restoration and numerous regeneration, development and renewable energy projects across the UK.
Looking back over the first 15 years, the notable highlights for me have been the larger and more challenging projects at each stage of the practice's growth. The award winning Cardiff Bay Barrage and it's iconic park, with sustainable soil creation using green waste from Cardiff's parks, was a notable project in the early years. Commercial and retail developments and government buildings such as the Welsh Assembly Government offices in Aberystwyth, remain leading projects over the period, with educational and health developments becoming a major part of the practice's workload in recent years. We have supported projects in the £100's of millions, including therapeutic landscape design in educational, community and healthcare settings. Major settlement expansions of over 1000 homes, with new community identities, remain a mainstay of the practice's workload, services form EIA and planning appeal support to detailed design.
